Airports… Oh, Airports…

Is it just me or do you guys share my love/hate relationship with airports?

Each time I fly somewhere, whether it’s business or vacation I always seem to have a mini anxiety attack at least 24 hours before I have to even head to the airport (anyone?)… Once I get through the fun experience of the “line ride” with airport security and get settled in front of my gate i’m always amazed with how many different people I always seem to see. My favorite is the ” Early 2000 Blue-tooth Guy”, you know the guy who just now is jumping on the blue-tooth bandwagon, but thinks that any headset for a cell phone is blue-tooth… you know the guy? They are wearing a head set a Telemarketer would be jealous of! What about the old lady/dude that thinks by standing at the flight attendant counter for 3 hours asking every 15 minutes if they are boarding will get them to board the plane first?

Anyway, as much as I dislike airports or flying in general, these buildings do have their share of amazing moments. My favorite, hands down, is when you walk out of the terminal and make your way to baggage claim. This has to be my favorite place of any airport that I have traveled through… It is where you are able to witness a beautiful display of human emotion (I’m so emo)…. you know the couple that is reunited after what seems like “forever” The way they look at each other, for the moment time stands still for them, nothing else seems to matter to them except that they are holding the person they love…

A funny thing always pops into my head when this happens. Remember in Saved By The Bell when Zack Morris always said “Time out…”? Yeah, totally like that! heh

What do you guys think about airports or flying in general? Do you like it? Hate it? Or maybe you’ve never flown before?
